FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It’s a good idea to check all bolts and fasteners at least once a month, especially after heavy use. Vibration from the road can cause them to loosen, which may lead to structural issues or unsafe hauling conditions. Pay extra attention to bolts around the tilt mechanism and axles.
Regularly inspect for scratches or chips in the powder coat, as exposed metal can rust. Touch up damaged areas with paint designed for metal surfaces. For extra protection, purchase a rust-preventive spray for high-exposure areas like the frame, stake pockets, and rub rail.
Park it on a level surface and use wheel chocks. If storing long-term, keep it off moist ground to prevent rust underneath. Covering the tires and deck with a tarp can help protect against weather damage. If possible, store it in a covered area or use a trailer cover.
Test the breakaway system every few months by pulling the breakaway switch pin and ensuring the trailer brakes activate. If they don’t, charge the battery and test again. If the battery doesn’t hold a charge, it’s time for a replacement.
Clean the deck regularly to remove dirt and debris. Avoid letting water sit on the wood, as moisture can cause rot. Apply a sealant or wood preservative once a year to protect against weather damage.
Check the wiring connections, especially where they plug into your tow vehicle. Corrosion or loose connections are common issues. If the problem persists, inspect the all-weather wiring harness for damage or breaks in the wiring.
