FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Inspect hydraulic fluid levels monthly and look for leaks around hoses and connections. If the lift seems slow or makes unusual noises, top off the fluid or have it checked by a professional.
Rinse bins after hauling messy or corrosive materials (like dirt or debris) to prevent buildup. Check for dents or damage that could affect performance and touch up scratches to prevent rust.
Clean the winch cable regularly and lightly lubricate moving parts to prevent rust and wear. Test the winch before heavy loads to ensure it’s operating properly.
As you would with your vehicle, keep tires inflated to the recommended PSI (listed on the tire sidewall) and check for cracks, punctures, or uneven wear before each trip. Rotate tires every 5,000–7,000 miles for longer life.
Park on a level surface, lower the scissor lift to relieve pressure, and disconnect the battery if storing long-term. If possible, cover the trailer or store it indoors to protect your purchase from weather.
Wash the frame and undercarriage regularly, especially after exposure to salt or mud. Touch up chips in the powder coating with matching paint and consider applying a rust inhibitor for extra protection. Talk to your local PJ Trailers supplier for more maintenance tips.
